The decolorization rate and COD removal rate of all kinds of printing and dyeing wastewater treated by magnesium hydroxide are quite high, and the pH value will not exceed 9. After treatment, all indicators meet the national wastewater discharge standard, so magnesium hydroxide is a very good treatment agent for printing and dyeing wastewater. The waste water discharged after dyeing is obviously more difficult to treat than the waste water prepared by ourselves, which shows that in the process of printing and dyeing, a large number of additives need to be added to improve the coloring rate, and the pollution of these additives is greater than that of pigments. Some data [5] show that when lime is used to treat wastewater in printing and dyeing plants, the chroma removal rate is about 85% and COD removal rate is about 71%; when magnesium hydroxide is used as treatment agent, the chroma removal rate is usually over 95% and COD removal rate is over 80%, which is enough to prove that magnesium hydroxide is an excellent wastewater treatment agent.
